Quran Dictionary - و ص د


The triliteral root wāw ṣād dāl (و ص د) occurs three times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • twice as the nominal mu'ṣadat (مُّؤْصَدَة)
  • once as the noun waṣīd (وَصِيد)

(18:18:13) bil-waṣīdiat the entrance وَكَلْبُهُمْ بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِالْوَصِيدِ
