The triliteral root nūn qāf ṣād (ن ق ص) occurs 10 times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

  • seven times as the form I verb yunqaṣu (يُنقَصُ)
  • twice as the noun naqṣ (نَقْص)
  • once as the passive participle manqūṣ (مَنقُوص)

Verb (form I) - to decrease, to reduce, to lessen
