The triliteral root nūn qāf dhāl (ن ق ذ) occurs five times in the Quran, in two derived forms:
- four times as the form IV verb anqadha (أَنقَذَ)
- once as the form X verb yastanqidhu (يَسْتَنقِذُ)

Verb (form IV) - to save
(3:103:26) fa-anqadhakum | then He saved you | وَكُنْتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ فَأَنْقَذَكُمْ مِنْهَا |
(36:23:15) yunqidhūni | they (can) save me | لَا تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُنْقِذُونِ |
