The triliteral root ghayn rā qāf (غ ر ق) occurs 23 times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • 17 times as the form IV verb ugh'riqu (أُغْرِقُ)
  • once as the noun gharaq (غَرَق)
  • once as the noun gharq (غَرْق)
  • four times as the form IV passive participle mugh'raqūn (مُّغْرَقُون)
