The triliteral root ghayn dāl wāw (غ د و) occurs 16 times in the Quran, in five derived forms:

  • three times as the form I verb ghada (غَدَ)
  • five times as the noun ghad (غَد)
  • once as the noun ghadā (غَدَآء)
  • five times as the noun ghuduww (غُدُوّ)
  • twice as the noun ghadat (غَدَوٰة)
