The triliteral root khā ḍād rā (خ ض ر) occurs eight times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • once as the adjective akhḍar (أَخْضَر)
  • five times as the nominal khuḍ'r (خُضْر)
  • once as the noun khaḍir (خَضِر)
  • once as the form IX active participle mukh'ḍarrat (مُخْضَرَّة)
