The triliteral root ʿayn kāf fā (ع ك ف) occurs nine times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

فَأَتَوْا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰ أَصْنَامٍ لَهُمْ
