The triliteral root ṣād yā dāl (ص ي د) occurs six times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form VIII verb iṣ'ṭādu (ٱصْطَادُ)
  • five times as the noun ṣayd (صَيْد)

(5:96:11) ṣaydugame وَحُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ مَا دُمْتُمْ حُرُمًا
