The triliteral root sīn kāf rā (س ك ر) occurs seven times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • once as the form II verb sukkirat (سُكِّرَتْ)
  • three times as the noun sukārā (سُكَٰرَىٰ)
  • once as the noun sakar (سَكَر)
  • twice as the noun sakrat (سَكْرَة)

Verb (form II) - to dazzle

(15:15:3) sukkirathave been dazzled لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَسْحُورُونَ
