Quran Dictionary - ص ب و

The triliteral root ṣād bā wāw (ص ب و) occurs three times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form I verb aṣbu (أَصْبُ)
  • twice as the noun ṣabiyy (صَبِيّ)

(12:33:13) aṣbuI might incline وَإِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُنْ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ

Noun

(19:12:7) ṣabiyyan(when he was) a child يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
(19:29:10) ṣabiyyana child فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
