The triliteral root ʿayn sīn rā (ع س ر) occurs 12 times in the Quran, in six derived forms:

  • once as the form VI verb taʿāsar (تَعَاسَرْ)
  • five times as the noun ʿus'r (عُسْر)
  • once as the adjective ʿasir (عَسِر)
  • once as the noun ʿus'rā (عُسْرَىٰ)
  • twice as the noun ʿus'rat (عُسْرَة)

(65:6:29) taʿāsartumyou disagree وَأْتَمِرُوا بَيْنَكُمْ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَإِنْ تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُ أُخْرَىٰ
