Quran Dictionary - ت ب ر


The triliteral root tā bā rā (ت ب ر) occurs six times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • twice as the form II verb tabbar (تَبَّرْ)
  • once as the noun tabār (تَبَار)
  • twice as the form II verbal noun tatbīr (تَتْبِير)
  • once as the form II passive participle mutabbar (مُتَبَّر)

Verb (form II) - to destory

(17:7:20) waliyutabbirūand to destroy وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِيرًا
(25:39:6) tabbarnāWe destroyed وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ الْأَمْثَالَ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا


(71:28:15) tabāran(in) destruction رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا
