The triliteral root ghayn yā thā (غ ي ث) occurs four times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form IV verb yughāthu (يُغَاثُ)
  • three times as the noun ghayth (غَيْث)

Verb (form IV) - to be given rain

(12:49:8) yughāthuwill be given abundant rain ثُمَّ يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَامٌ فِيهِ يُغَاثُ النَّاسُ

(31:34:7) l-ghaythathe rain إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ
