The triliteral root rā fā dāl (ر ف د) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the noun rif'd (رِّفْد)
  • once as the passive participle marfūd (مَرْفُود)

(11:99:8) l-rif'du(is) the gift وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَٰذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ

Passive participle

(11:99:9) l-marfūduwhich (will) be given وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَٰذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ
