The triliteral root kāf nūn nūn (ك ن ن) occurs 12 times in the Quran, in four derived forms:

  • three times as the form IV verb aknan (أَكْنَن)
  • once as the noun aknān (أَكْنَٰن)
  • four times as the noun akinnat (أَكِنَّة)
  • four times as the passive participle maknūn (مَّكْنُون)
