The triliteral root fā ḍād ḍād (ف ض ض) occurs nine times in the Quran, in two derived forms:
- three times as the form VII verb infaḍḍu (ٱنفَضُّ)
- six times as the noun fiḍḍat (فِضَّة)

Verb (form VII) - to rush, to disperse
(3:159:12) la-infaḍḍū | surely they (would have) dispersed | وَلَوْ كُنْتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانْفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ |
(62:11:6) infaḍḍū | they rushed | وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا |
(63:7:12) yanfaḍḍū | they disband | هُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنْفَضُّوا |
