Verse (2:27), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (2:27) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is qāf ṭā ʿayn (ق ط ع). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: Who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers.
