Verse (26:49), Word 15 - Quranic Grammar

The fifteenth word of verse (26:49) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb and emphatic suffix. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form II imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is qāf ṭā ʿayn (ق ط ع). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد).

Sahih International: [Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
