Chapter (68) sūrat l-qalam (The Pen)

Sahih International: And it became as though reaped.

Pickthall: And in the morning it was as if plucked.

Yusuf Ali: So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered).

Shakir: So it became as black, barren land.

Muhammad Sarwar: and the garden was turned into a barren desert.

Mohsin Khan: So the (garden) became black by the morning, like a pitch dark night (in complete ruins).

Arberry: and in the morning it was as if it were a garden plucked.
