Chapter (59) sūrat l-ḥashr (The Gathering)

Sahih International: And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.

Pickthall: And be not ye as those who forgot Allah, therefor He caused them to forget their souls. Such are the evil-doers.

Yusuf Ali: And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He made them forget their own souls! Such are the rebellious transgressors!

Shakir: And be not like those who forsook Allah, so He made them forsake their own souls: these it is that are the transgressors.

Muhammad Sarwar: Do not be like those who forget about God. He will make them forget themselves. These are the sinful people.

Mohsin Khan: And be not like those who forgot Allah (i.e. became disobedient to Allah) and He caused them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous deeds). Those are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Arberry: Be not as those who forgot God, and so He caused them to forget their souls; those -- they are the ungodly.
