The triliteral root kāf sīn wāw (ك س و) occurs five times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • three times as the form I verb kasaw (كَسَوْ)
  • twice as the noun kis'wat (كِسْوَت)

(4:5:12) wa-ik'sūhumand clothe them وَارْزُقُوهُمْ فِيهَا وَاكْسُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا لَهُمْ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا
(23:14:11) fakasawnāthen We clothed فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا
