Verse (50:11), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar


The seventh word of verse (50:11) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and demonstrative pronoun. The prefixed preposition ka is usually translated as "like" or "as". The demonstrative pronoun is masculine singular. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
