Verse (4:4), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar


The thirteenth word of verse (4:4) is an indefinite masculine adjective and is in the accusative case (منصوب). The adjective's triliteral root is hā nūn hamza (ه ن أ).

Verse (4:4)

The analysis above refers to the fourth verse of chapter 4 (sūrat l-nisāa):

Sahih International: And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.
