Verse (2:10), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (2:10) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, preposition and personal pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The personal pronoun is third person masculine plural. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
