Verse (20:18), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar


The sixth word of verse (20:18) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is hā shīn shīn (ه ش ش).
