جملة «وما كنت» مستأنفة، المصدر «أن يلقى» مفعول «ترجو»، «إلا» للحصر، «رحمة» مفعول لأجله، والاستثناء من عموم الأحوال، الجار «من ربك» متعلق بنعت لـ«رحمة»، وجملة «فلا تكونن» معطوفة على جملة «وما كنت»، والفعل مضارع ناقص مبني على الفتح، واسمها ضمير المخاطب، و«ظهيرًا» خبرها، والجار «للكافرين» متعلق بـ«ظهيرًا».
