Verse (7:11), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (7:11) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix and particle of certainty. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis.

Sahih International: And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.
