Verse (69:12), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (69:12) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل). The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.
