Verse (63:1), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (63:1) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, noun and possessive pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The noun is masculine and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is rā sīn lām (ر س ل). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine singular.

Sahih International: When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.
