Verse (5:108), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar


The eleventh word of verse (5:108) is a passive imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person feminine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is rā dāl dāl (ر د د).

Sahih International: That is more likely that they will give testimony according to its [true] objective, or [at least] they would fear that [other] oaths might be taken after their oaths. And fear Allah and listen; and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

It is evident by its subject noun which is broken plural, feminine.
