Verse (32:20), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (32:20) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, noun and possessive pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The noun is masculine and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is hamza wāw yā (أ و ي). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (32:20)

Sahih International: But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."
