Chapter (26) sūrat l-shuʿarā (The Poets)

Sahih International: And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."

Pickthall: And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk.

Yusuf Ali: "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"

Shakir: And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits.

Muhammad Sarwar: instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people."

Mohsin Khan: "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!"

Arberry: leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors.
