Chapter (13) sūrat l-raʿd (The Thunder)

Sahih International: For them will be punishment in the life of [this] world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they will not have from Allah any protector.

Pickthall: For them is torment in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter is more painful, and they have no defender from Allah.

Yusuf Ali: For them is a penalty in the life of this world, but harder, truly, is the penalty of the Hereafter: and defender have they none against Allah.

Shakir: They shall have chastisement in this world's life, and the chastisement of the hereafter is certainly more grievous, and they shall have no protector against Allah.

Muhammad Sarwar: The unbelievers will face torment in this world and their punishment in the life hereafter will be even greater. No one can save them from the wrath of God.

Mohsin Khan: For them is a torment in the life of this world, and certainly, harder is the torment of the Hereafter. And they have no protector against Allah.

Arberry: For them is chastisement in the present life; and the chastisement of the world to come is yet more grievous; they have none to defend them from God.
