Chapter (25) sūrat l-fur'qān (The Criterion)

Sahih International: Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?

Pickthall: Hast thou seen him who chooseth for his god his own lust? Wouldst thou then be guardian over him?

Yusuf Ali: Seest thou such a one as taketh for his god his own passion (or impulse)? Couldst thou be a disposer of affairs for him?

Shakir: Have you seen him who takes his low desires for his god? Will you then be a protector over him?

Muhammad Sarwar: How can you be the guardian of those who have chosen their own desires as their Lord?

Mohsin Khan: Have you (O Muhammad SAW) seen him who has taken as his ilah (god) his own desire? Would you then be a Wakil (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?

Arberry: Hast thou seen him who has taken his caprice to be his god? Wilt thou be a guardian over them?
