Chapter (44) sūrat l-dukhān (The Smoke)

Sahih International: Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].

Pickthall: Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night - Lo! We are ever warning -

Yusuf Ali: We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil).

Shakir: Surely We revealed it on a blessed night surely We are ever warning--

Muhammad Sarwar: that We have revealed the Quran on a blessed night to warn mankind.

Mohsin Khan: We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Surah No: 97) in the month of Ramadan,, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship].

Arberry: We have sent it down in a blessed night (We are ever warning)
