Verse (40:14) - English Translation

Chapter (40) sūrat ghāfir (The Forgiver God)

Sahih International: So invoke Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it.

Pickthall: Therefor (O believers) pray unto Allah, making religion pure for Him (only), however much the disbelievers be averse -

Yusuf Ali: Call ye, then, upon Allah with sincere devotion to Him, even though the Unbelievers may detest it.

Shakir: Therefore call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, though the unbelievers are averse:

Muhammad Sarwar: Worship God and be devoted to His religion even though the disbelievers dislike this.

Mohsin Khan: So, call you (O Muhammad SAW and the believers) upon (or invoke) Allah making (your) worship pure for Him (Alone) (by worshipping none but Him and by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allah's sake only and not to show-off and not to set up rivals with Him in worship). However much the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allah) may hate (it).

Arberry: So call unto God, making your religion His sincerely, though the unbelievers be averse.
