Chapter (28) sūrat l-qaṣaṣ (The Stories)

Sahih International: And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful.

Pickthall: Of His mercy hath He appointed for you night and day, that therein ye may rest, and that ye may seek His bounty, and that haply ye may be thankful.

Yusuf Ali: It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful.

Shakir: And out of His mercy He has made for you the night and the day, that you may rest therein, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks.

Muhammad Sarwar: He has made the night and day for you to rest as a mercy to you and seek His favor and that perhaps you will give Him thanks.

Mohsin Khan: It is out of His Mercy that He has put for you night and day, that you may rest therein (i.e. during the night) and that you may seek of His Bounty (i.e. during the day), and in order that you may be grateful.

Arberry: Of His mercy He has appointed for you night and day, for you to repose in and seek after His bounty, that haply you will be thankful.'
