Chapter (26) sūrat l-shuʿarā (The Poets)

Sahih International: So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."

Pickthall: Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners.

Yusuf Ali: So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!"

Shakir: So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious.

Muhammad Sarwar: So they cast down their ropes and staffs saying, "By the honor of the Pharaoh we shall certainly become the winners".

Mohsin Khan: So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said: "By the might of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), it is we who will certainly win!"

Arberry: So they cast their ropes and their staffs, and said, 'By the might of Pharaoh we shall be the victors.'
