Chapter (14) sūrat ib'rāhīm (Abraham)

Sahih International: And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.

Pickthall: And the similitude of a bad saying is as a bad tree, uprooted from upon the earth, possessing no stability.

Yusuf Ali: And the parable of an evil Word is that of an evil tree: It is torn up by the root from the surface of the earth: it has no stability.

Shakir: And the parable of an evil word is as an evil tree pulled up from the earth's surface; it has no stability.

Muhammad Sarwar: An evil word is compared to an evil tree with no firm roots in the land and thus has no stability.

Mohsin Khan: And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth having no stability.
