Chapter (8) sūrat l-anfāl (The Spoils of War)

Sahih International: But if they turn away - then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper.

Pickthall: And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Befriender - a Transcendent Patron, a Transcendent Helper!

Yusuf Ali: If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help.

Shakir: And if they turn back, then know that Allah is your Patron; most excellent is the Patron and most excellent the Helper.

Muhammad Sarwar: If the (unbelievers) turn away from the faith, God is you (believers) best Guardian and best Helper.

Mohsin Khan: And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Maula (Patron, Lord, Protector and Supporter, etc.), (what) an Excellent Maula, and (what) an Excellent Helper!

Arberry: but if they turn away, know that God is your Protector -- an excellent Protector, an excellent Helper!
