The triliteral root bā ṭā shīn (ب ط ش) occurs 10 times in the Quran, in three derived forms:

  • five times as the form I verb baṭash (بَطَشْ)
  • twice as the noun baṭshat (بَطْشَة)
  • three times as the verbal noun baṭsh (بَطْش)

(7:195:8) yabṭishūna(to) hold أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَا أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَا
