Verse (8:1), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (8:1) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form VIII imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is wāw qāf yā (و ق ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (8:1)

The analysis above refers to the first verse of chapter 8 (sūrat l-anfāl):

Sahih International: They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers.
