Verse (42:2), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar


Verse 2 of chapter 42 begins with the Quranic initials ʿayn sīn qāf (ع س ق). These are sequences of letters that occur at the start of certain chapters in the Quran. In Arabic these are known as the disconnected or shortened letters (حروف مقطعة).
