Verse (2:41), Word 18 - Quranic Grammar

The eighteenth word of verse (2:41) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The form VIII imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is wāw qāf yā (و ق ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The of the first person singular object pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.
