Verse (4:129), Word 14 - Quranic Grammar

The fourteenth word of verse (4:129) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and passive participle. The prefixed preposition ka is usually translated as "like" or "as". The form II passive participle is feminine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The passive participle's triliteral root is ʿayn lām qāf (ع ل ق). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Sahih International: And you will never be able to be equal [in feeling] between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging. And if you amend [your affairs] and fear Allah - then indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
