The triliteral root bā thā thā (ب ث ث) occurs nine times in the Quran, in five derived forms:

  • five times as the form I verb batha (بَثَّ)
  • once as the noun bath (بَثّ)
  • once as the adjective munbath (مُّنبَثّ)
  • once as the passive participle mabthūth (مَبْثُوث)
  • once as the passive participle mabthūthat (مَبْثُوثَة)

(2:164:29) wabathaand dispersing فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ
(4:1:13) wabathaand dispersed وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاءً
