Verse (8:57), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar


The first word of verse (8:57) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, conditional particle and supplemental particle. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events.

Chapter (8) sūrat l-anfāl (The Spoils of War)

Verse (8:57)

The analysis above refers to the 57th verse of chapter 8 (sūrat l-anfāl):

Sahih International: So if you, [O Muhammad], gain dominance over them in war, disperse by [means of] them those behind them that perhaps they will be reminded.
