The sixth word of verse (6:9) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is lām bā sīn (ل ب س). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.
