Verse (11:91), Word 14 - Quranic Grammar

The fourteenth word of verse (11:91) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is rā jīm mīm (ر ج م). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is second person masculine singular.

Sahih International: They said, "O Shu'ayb, we do not understand much of what you say, and indeed, we consider you among us as weak. And if not for your family, we would have stoned you [to death]; and you are not to us one respected."
