Verse (9:67), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (9:67) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and passive participle. The prefixed preposition bi is usually translated as "with" or "by". The form IV passive participle is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The passive participle's triliteral root is nūn kāf rā (ن ك ر). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Sahih International: The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah , so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.
